Hillcrest, Illinois 61068
Emergency: 911
Administration: 815-562-2081 Fax: 815-561-0141
The Hillcrest Police Department is dedicated to serving the needs of the community. We maintain an aggressive, pro-active posture. Our objective is to prevent crime and apprehend offenders instead of responding to crimes after they happen.
All regular members of the Hillcrest Police Department are certified as law enforcement officers by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board. The Hillcrest Police Department does not utilize specialized divisions, preferring instead that officers perform staggered duties that expose them to all facets of law enforcement and service to the community. On any given day, an officer may be required to perform patrol duties, respond to crimes in progress, mediate civil disputes, investigate traffic accidents, perform traffic enforcement, enforce village ordinances, conduct neighborhood watch meetings, process crime scenes, conduct follow-up investigations. Our officers receive continuing in-house and formal training to ensure that they are prepared to handle any situation that arises. All of our officers have certifications in various areas of expertise to better serve the community.
The Hillcrest Police Department is dispatched through the Ogle County 911 Center. Patrol and investigative services are supplemented by the Ogle County Sheriff’s Police. Working closely with our neighboring law enforcement agencies, we strive to provide a safe environment for the citizens of our area.
